White County Veterans Service Officer: Douglas C. Gentry
Duties
It is the duty of the County Veterans Officer to assist veterans and their dependents and survivors in filing claims for benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Claims may include:

Disability compensation

Death pension
-
Burial benefits

VA medical care

Veterans' Education Assistance
Our Accreditation
Before receiving accreditation through the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, all County Veterans Service Officers (CVSO), must receive and complete a training course supervised by the Arkansas State Department of Veterans Affairs.
The White County Veterans Service Officer is also accredited through Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) and the United Spinal Association.
CVSO personnel who are already accredited must take regular ongoing refresher training to keep informed and abreast of continuing changes to the law, regulations, and VA policies.
Holiday Observances
With the assistance of Veterans Service Organizations and the White County Judge, the County Veterans Service Office conducts the Veterans Day and Memorial Day Ceremonies each year.
Only Vietnam Veterans of America accredited representative in the state of Arkansas.
